  • Want to Enter EP field

    Hello everyone,
I have been interested in executive protection for a while now. I live in southern California where there are countless companies. Does anyone have experience with a good company in SC? I'm specifically looking for growth within. I was looking at Gavin De Becker as an option but I'm open for suggestions.
also, how hard is this career for work/life balance. Can a family man remain in this profession? What is your experience?

    Thank you.

GDB is one of the best. No BS, real gigs, full time, career type advancement. You family will suffer as its shift and travel work.

Thank you for the information. When I get back to the US I will apply.
But I think that's majority of careers right? I'm hoping it's not too much a stain on my family. I really want to get into EP and make it a career.

Starting with a solid company is the way to go. After a few years, you will have a firm grasp on the job and what else is out there. Do NOT work for any company that hires "bodyguards". You will find out why after you've been around the block a few times.

GDB has strict PT and rules.

        Good luck!

I'm fine with the strict rules, I think it makes a professional environment. I'm very interested in protective services. With my domestic partner being a cop I don't want a career that will be too harsh on us both. Hopefully this works out.
