I think the rank slides or epaulette slides look better than anything else. In Australia we are not permitted to use stripes so it is either the words senior officer, supervisor or has been my experience coloured slides or bars like a pilot. It also saves sewing time and the need for 3 or everything for jackets, shirts and also for jumpers (sweaters) if you wear them.
