Does anybody know the exact name or brand name of a strobelight flashlight? It operates by flashing bursts of intermitent light (at a suspect) that will disorient him enough so he cannot decifer your closing speed, in the event you need to tackle him or otherwise take him to the ground. Thanks.

I remember hearing about this a while back... I think Surefire made one with this feature.... I'll do some poking around....
One I found real quick just now:
SWAT Lightsaver - made by Gunfighters LTD. http://www.gunfightersltd.com/Lightsaver.htm
And another, per Officer.com **(This one seems to be popular)**
Night-Ops Gladius
Looks like there's quite a few out there to choose from..Corbier's Commandos - "Stickin it to the ninjas!"

It is powered by two 3-volt lithium batteries with a runtime of 90 minutes of 80+ lumens of light.
I like the strobe feature, but I'm not going to pay 249.00for just 80+ Lumens.

I never said it was cost effective. But it is cool. When you have the cash to blow (as many police officers do, yay tax write offs), you end up buying things like that.
Then, there's the REST OF US, who buy a Stinger. Some Kind of Commando Leader

with all this talk about diffrent flashlight types, 2 D-Cells, 6 D-Cells...Stinger, Gladius...$250...screw all that mess...I'm just gonna go out and get me one of those flashlights you see on the infomercials at 1am. You know the clear plastic one that runs on static electricity to power it? Shake it up for a bit, and viola! $9.95 LMAO"If you run, you'll only go to jail tired."

I just picked up a beautiful Streamlight... A TwinTask 2L... ran about 30 bucks, but has an amazing light.
It alternates as you turn it on and off between a Xenon light and LED lights. I was trying it out in my darkened bathroom and it can really make someone think there are two officers present if you use it properly."Alright guys listen up, ya'll have probably heard this before, Jackson vs. Securiplex corporation; I am a private security officer, I have no State or governmental authority. I stand as an ordinary citizen. I have no right to; detain, interrogate or otherwise interfere with your personal property-... basically all that means is I'm a cop."-Officer Ernie

Originally posted by N. A. CorbierHopefully it puts out enough light, and is instantly accessable. I rely on my Streamlight Stinger because it turns on, unless I forgot to charge it. Then its my own damn fault.
What lesson did we both learn that night? Charge your flashlight nightly, or keep a spare battery in the car"To win one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the highest skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the highest skill." Sun-Tzu
