  • Uniformity Inc - Any experiences with them?

Anyone have any experiences or use the following company for their uniforms/gear?:

    Uniformity Inc.
    3177 MacArthur Blvd
    Northbrook, IL 60062-1930
    847.236.3100
    847.236.3105 FAX

They are owned by IPC International. Poor service. I have been waiting months for namebars. They always send my order 3 times, charging my company each time, and I feel they have bad business practices. They charged my company about $1000.00 for about 600 patches (mind you we only have 17 Security Officers for my mall but have 26 malls company wide, each mall having a different patch) and when I send them about 200 uniforms to get patches, the patches suddenly vanished and wanted to charge us more to expedite the order faster.

Anyone else deal with them? Very frustrating!

That explains why their models are all IPC employees. They provide equipment to our local PD. However, they refused to provide a quote for pepper spray, saying that it was "illegal to sell to security guards in Wisconsin," even though it is not illegal.

When I worked for Control security we ordered from them, by the time that the uniform order got in, I have been on the payroll for three months and had bought my own.

My last order from them was a nightmare. They had already filled the order months back. I told the rep that they needed to have UPS pick it back up and they would pay to ship it back. They assured me a "call ticket" was made. 5 months later the package still sat in the management office. I called them up each day up until a few weeks ago when it was finally picked up. Seemed like a scam to make my company pay for stuff we didnt want. Nice try.

Yet another nightmare order from Uniformity Inc. One of my female officers needed shirts. I ordered them a few weeks back and got them today. The patches are my companies old ones and the flag needs to have a silver border, not gold. I asked where the new patches went and once again they magically vanished from Uniformity. I am going to take the right patches to the uniform place I personally use and they will fix it, I will pay out of pocket and work will reimburse me. I am trying to get my work to use the place I go to. EVERYONE AVOID Uniformity Inc like the plague!

Unless your IPC, why would you order from them? I know you have to, but if you can, try Uniform Warehouse. (www.uniforms4all.com)

Im forced to order through them via some unknown agreement when our mall had IPC as security. They are gone and they only do our stats or something for some outrageous amount.

I am working hard to change who we order from. Even though we still have to keep Uniformity, I will never order from them again if we go with another company.

Are there any local companies that you can do business with?

There is one locally but I have been doing business with one about an hour or so north and thats who I am working to get as a "2nd choice" since we have to keep Uniformity Inc, though I wont do any more business.

It sounds like he's stuck due to contractual issues with his employer (the mall) and IPC. IPC probably has a rule that if they manage operations, the client will use their vendor.

The ONLY thing IPC does for us is stats for a ton of money. I have yet to be shown anything that says we MUST order from Uniformity, only some management persons word. Therefore, I am pushing for a second uniform supplier.

Make sure that they get your order right. We've had problems with em before on that. They'll send a new order free of charge, but you're still stuck with stuff you don't need.

Also, if you plan on ordering light bars, do not order green and amber yet, it is still a violation of Chapter 493 for a Class B licensee company to be in mere possession of any lightbar color than amber, even though the new law allows you to operate a green and amber bar on private or public property.
