Smart states will have prescribed requirements for weapon style, barrel length, calibers , etc. Not an individual’s choice.

It varies from city to city here.

My city ordinance is revolvers have to have a barrel between 4 and 6 inches and can only be .38 Special or .357 Magnum. They can be DAO or DA/SA but not SAO.

Semiautomatics must have a minimum 4 inch barrel and can only be chambered in 9mm or .40 S&W (the next county over allows .45ACP as well, NOBODY allows 10mm) and must be SFA DAO or TDA.

A special endorsement on your guard card is required to carry concealed and another is required for plain clothes.

Carrying an authorized weapon is a second degree felony punishable by up to 2 years in the state penitentiary.
