Has anyone used sudecon or bioshield Oc decontamination wipes? Do they work ? how long after using them where you able to open your eyes and function?

I did not use those (so why am I replying?!) but I have used the Zarc ones. Those have milk fat in it. Honestly, those didn't do much either, my eye was still welded shut from Vexor for 30 minutes.

The very first time I got sprayed, the Sudecon wipes were my secret weapon. I advised my academy partner how to use them, we hatched the plan to use them while all the other guys were screaming in pain, dunking their heads in buckets.

The plan lasted about 1 second after I finished the "fight through" drill post-OC exposure. I did not want to wipe my face, I wanted a bucket of ice water.

Summary: They are good for wiping SOMEONE ELSE down.

I have used bodyguard rescue spray made by guardian personal security products and I thought it was ok. The first time when I had pepper sprayed someone while I had it in my vehicle the first responding police officer told me not to because if I most likely had a good reason to OC him so let him be in pain to realize his mistake. Plus here in AZ if pepper spray is used it is mandatory for the fire dept to show up and flush the subject's face with water. So in my opinion the guy can be in pain for the 5min it takes for the fire dept to show up, as I work 2 blocks from the fire dept. The only time I did use it when I was in a fight with a guy who was resisting, I used my fox labs cone spray, and then was stupid enough to walk through my own cloud of OC when still fighting with the subject. My face wasn't so bad but my arms burned like no other, still took a very long time after continuously using the rescue spray to feel no burning. I wouldn't waste my money if I were you.

Just call the fire dept because most likely that is mandatory anyways.

Please dont waste the $$, they dont work that well...

Keep a bottle of "Johnsons and Johnsons" baby shampoo on hand. Mix it with ice cold water, and it will work wonders.. Or use milk.

I usually have a few bioshield towlettes tucked away in a cargo pocket while i'm working. I don't carry them for myself, but for others. Over time you build up some tolerance to OC. Do they work well? I honestly couldn't tell you, but if the person who was sprayed thinks it works, then that's fine with me.

You can make a suspect once in custody your new best friend by wiping that off, hosing them down with saline solution, or otherwise making the burn go away. I wouldn't trust them after that, of course, but it will make them call down, and help to humanize you in their eyes for a bit.

I found the Sudicon wipes to work ok, they didnt totally take the OC effects away, they will have no effect on any inhalation effects, but it did take the 'bite' out of it, as far as skin & eye contact & made recovery time much less.
I sqeezed the juice from a clean towelet right into my eyes & was able to see much faster then those that were dunking for apples..You need at least 2 or more however, for even quick basic decon, 1 towelet wont cut it.

They work really good if you happen to get a mild secondary hit, say from a partner hosing someone else & it drifts over to you or an innocent old lady on her way home from church...this is much safer for any 3rd party decon assistance rendering, then attempting to decon or help decon an innocent party who may mistake your attempted head flushing them in the bucket of water, as an act of forced drowning..lol
They arent bad to have on you, I keep 2 wipes stored with my cuffs along with my disposable gloves, no weight, no bulk, good stuff just in case.

In the town in which I now live there are three cops, RCMP (Mounties). I was talking with one the other day after my jail shift, and after an incident he had that shift where he had to OC a teen who came at him with a table leg. This kid is in a bad, bad family situation and the cop felt sorry for the boy, but did have to protect himself. After setting the boy in a cell (after washing him down with as much water as he could) we got to talking and I told him about a substance that I had heard about some time ago that neutralized the effects of OC.

In reading the posts around here it certainly seems that Mall Director is the SIW Forums' OC Man. I have a question for you MD: Will 'Johnson and Johnson's Baby Shampoo' really work? How well does it work? I understand that almost any base substance will counteract the acidity of the OC, but both shampoo and milk are both icky sticky messes. Anything else work as well without the mess (apparently not the wipes, though)?

                  Thanks,
