  • HI from Illinois

I am a hospital secuirty officer, we have 800,000 + square feet of building and 12 blocks of property, 160 some beds and 30 of those are a locked psyc unit. Our duties are the regular security stuff; door unlocks safety escorts and so on. We are un-armed, but we were a few years ago and some suit decided that the world was a safer place and dis armed us and 3 mo later 9/11 happened. We still have batons, pepper pray, cuffs and yes, flashlights and KEYS We are hands on, lost of action in my 8 years. just thought I would drop a line

    BE SAFE

You know, its silly. We have no registration of firearms, and no laws prohibiting open carry. Illinois has FOID cards, open carry prohibitation, but they can carry EMD weapons.

Yet, our legislature is scared to death of citizens posessing EMDs like a Taser.
