Hello from the Las Vegas Strip

    Hi all,
My name is Michael Oden, I've been in Security for over twenty years and I swear somedays it feels like I'm just starting out. I enjoy the challanges this career presents and the friendships I've made in this job over the years. Currently, I'm the Assistant Director of Security at the Miracle Mile Shops @Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
I started out as a SP in the Air Force and when I got out I chose not to become a Police Officer, opting to stay in the private sector. I spent years as a LP investigator and four years working Contract Security in the Middle East.
Last month my book was released titled, "Observe And Report", Behind the Scenes with Security. I'm very proud of this book because I feel as Security professionals we've been in the shadows far too long. The book is non-fiction and is in no way to be considered another Security manual. This body of work is true life on the job stories from my former co-workers and myself from around the globe.
I hope in the end every person who reads it finds a new sense of respect for the men and women whom work in this industry because without us this world would be a far more dangerous place. www.observeandreport.net

            Miracle Mile Shops

I'm actually the Assistant Director at the Miracle Mile Shops which is a mall attached to The Planet Hollywood Hotel Casino. It's pretty much like the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. However, I have spent time in the past in Hotel security at the Ilikai Hotel in Honolulu.

G'day from Australia .......... hey listen .......... you can tell us ....... is Elvis still living in the Hilton ?

I visited Lost Wages once and could not believe the difference from day into night time - amazing place for the entertainment. I have stayed at the Illikai in Hon - moons back on my 5th and last trip to Hawaii.

Looks like I need to get back over to Lost Wages whilst our dollar is still floating above 93 cents - expect a truck load of aussies heading over to spend their kids inheritence. Oh and I did see Elvis crossing the road when I went there with his twin walking over to a casino on my side.
