I have checked out this site over a few months and decided to join. I started security right out of high school, working for valor in ky. I just did it for the pay check, but was exposed to allot of bad things and practices there. I left to go to college full time, and got on with my school's police dept as a cadet, writing parking tickets all day. I later went to an amuesement park doing in house and it was security on steroids, park police.. never let it get to my head although it obviously was to allot of the guys up there. Now im looking to go back to valor at a different site, and going to a contract position in ohio that a buddy works which is a sweet deal. I have been assigned to various local police agencies on internships for school where the focus was getting street expereince and learning what its like to be a patrol officer around cincinnati. Great experiences. I am currently concentrated in law enforcement management and will either take that to the marine corps and try to be a commissioned officer, find a great security company to work for, or get into local law enforcement.

Welcome to the forum.
Good luck on your future, in one of the jobs you described that your interested in. They are all honorable, but taking a tour in the MARINES would be an awesome starting place for either of the other two alternatives.
If nothing else, reading some of the threads here will enlighten you to some intelligent, well written posts, where the writers actually know what their talking about, vs other posts by people like me who just like to read their own writings over and over.
Anyway, I have to go now, so I can read my last posting.
