  • Politics vs. Security? Who wins?

No one wins when politics rule over security. Unfortunately, this is often the case.
Hello, fellow security personnel. I have worked in security, both contract and in-house, for over ten years. I've got a lot of "war stories", and gripes I'm sure we can all relate to.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.

Its not how we die that counts.....
Its not how we lived that counts....
all that matters is how we saved that one life that one time by being in the right place at the right time....

            Chimpie...

I have come across a seemingly benign officer who turned out to have a violent record...and he was working an armed post.
It is just so harum scarum to voluntarily submit to ANY registry of ANY kind these days. There are probably so many upon which my name appears, nestled deep within the files of laptops wielded by the moronic horde. It makes a great coaster for a drink during conversation at a bar. I just hope it's not left behind with the bartender as said moron darts out the door with his/her (equal opportunity) latest conquest.

I don't know where you work/reside, but here in Florida, Licensed Security Officers are listed publicly on the web if one were to go to the right place. We are not protected like LEOs are. Although, hopefully soon that too, will change. We will see....

              Be safe,

One can only hope. Here in Texas, a lot of LEOs consider us either idiots or cannon fodder. Mainly due to the complete lack of any training whatsoever. Every state will realize sooner or later that this isn't the 1960s anymore. We can't afford to be Barney Fife. No offense to Andy Taylor of course
