    Hello!
We're in-house. Department title is "Corporate Security". We have status to write parking infraction notices, and provincial offences officer status to write fines (PON's) for various offences under several by-laws...littering, fires and tents in parks, dog off leash, etc. Trespass to property act authority (TPA) to evict or arrest.....not to lay fines, YET. Apprehend those committing criminal acts on or in relation to municipal property. Hoping to get status under the Public Works Protection Act (Ontario). Great piece of legislation!
Corporate Security provides 24/7 365 day/yr service to the City.
    Fun job.

We have a separate dept in the City for strictly bylaws, no arresting authority. They enforce parking, noise, property standards. Several bylaw officers patrol the parks on dirt bikes over the summer.

    Welcome from Montreal!

Do you secure the property of the city only or are you also by-law enforcement, giving out oarking tickets, noise complaints etc?

    In-House or contract?

    Security Officer - Ontario

    Hi !!!
I work in municipal security in SW Ontario. Been doing this for nearly 6 years and love the work! Before the City, I worked in the armored truck field and graduated from the Law and Security Administration program in college.

Looking forward to communicating with others on the Forum!
