Mobile ID Scanners

Just wondering who here uses mobile ID scanners at entry points and what features you like about them. What brands do you use/like most, features, etc.

We are getting ready to start using ID scanners at our entry gates at the office, and was trying to get the ball bouncing by talking to some here who are more in the know than i am about this subject.
