    Today’s business risk environments have become increasingly more severe, complex, and interdependent, both domestically and globally. The effective management of these environments is a fundamental requirement of business. Boards of Directors, shareholders, key stakeholders, and the public correctly expect organizations to identify and anticipate areas of risk and set in place a cohesive strategy across all functions to mitigate or reduce those risks. In addition, there is an expectation that management will respond in a highly effective manner to those events and incidents that threaten the assets of the organization. A proactive strategy for mitigation of the risk of loss ultimately provides a positive impact to profitability and is an organizational governance responsibility of senior management and governing boards.

    Position Summary:
    Sr. Director of Corporate Security function includes the physical security of employees, facilities and assets. This Security executive is responsible for the organization's entire physical security posture including loss prevention and fraud prevention. This position also participates closely in related areas such as business continuity planning and privacy.

    This is the top security executive in the company. He or she will report directly to a senior functional executive, the Chief Operations Officer (COO.) He or she will oversee and coordinate security efforts across the company and will coordinate with human resources, communications, legal, facilities management and other groups to identify security initiatives and standards.

    Craft, influence, and direct an organization-wide protection strategy. Including an effective strategy to assess and mitigate risk, maintain continuity of operations, and safeguard the organization.
    Identify protection goals, objectives and metrics consistent with corporate strategic plan.
    Manage the development and implementation of national security policy, standards, guidelines and procedures to ensure ongoing maintenance of security. Physical protection responsibilities will include asset protection, workplace violence prevention, access control systems, video surveillance, emergency response, executive coverage and more.
    Work with other executives to prioritize security initiatives and spending based on appropriate risk management and/or financial methodology.
    Oversee a network of security managers and vendors who safeguard the company's assets and computer systems, as well as the physical safety of employees and visitors.
    Directs the national security staff in identifying, developing, implementing, and maintaining security processes, practices, and policies throughout the organization to reduce risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure and liability in the areas of information, financial, physical, personal, and reputational risk.
    Through subordinate managers, coordinate and implement site security, operations, and activities to ensure protection of executives, managers, employees, physical and information assets, while ensuring optimal use of personnel and equipment.
    Oversee incident response planning as well as the investigation of security breaches, and assist with disciplinary and legal matters associated with such breaches as necessary.
    Assist with crisis management and be an active team member.
    Provide technical expertise in procedural guidance to management and staff of business units.
    Develops relationships with high level law enforcement counterparts to include in-country security agencies (local, state and federal law enforcement and other government agencies), intelligence, private sector counterparts.
    Work with outside consultants as appropriate for independent security audits.
    Research and deploy state-of-the-art technology solutions and innovative security management techniques to safeguard the organization’s assets. Establish appropriate standards and associated risk controls.
    Develop and deliver service in response to criminal financial loss, counterfeiting, crimes against persons, sabotage, threats, emergencies, illegal acts, and property or environmental crimes.
    Develop standards and policies for compliance with government rules, regulations, laws, and treaties regarding security requirements for import and export of products.
    Brief executive management on status of security issues.

    Must be an intelligent, articulate and persuasive leader who can serve as an effective advisor to the senior management team and who is able to communicate security-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.
    Must be a strong leader with both technical and business skills, compatible with the corporate culture.
    Should have experience with business continuity planning, auditing, and risk management.
    Must have strong working knowledge of pertinent law and the law enforcement community.
    Must have a solid understanding of information technology and information security.
    Seasoned manager with a collaborative outlook and a proven track record as a team player and business partner.
    At least 5 years of direct experience in a significant leadership role.
    Demonstrated ability to develop and manage the functional capital and expense budget.
    Advanced degree (Masters) or equivalent in an area of study relevant to this position and at least 10-15 years of experience in private sector corporate security or related public sector organization.

    Facilitate the use of traditional and advanced scenario planning techniques in assessing risks and threats to the organization.
