Mr. Paul Caplan
Cygnus Business Media Corporation
Dear Mr. Paul Caplan:
I am a user of your security forum, I wish I could say my experience has been a pleasure but for the most part it has not been. At first I thought this would be a good place to converse with other security professionals, a few I have met on here and I tip my hat to them. However, I have found your administrator and his cohorts leave much to be desired, as do a few other members on this site. Your primary administrator N.A. Corbier so it seems is an expert on every topic and subject related to security which is impressive for someone I would deem a child by lack of experience. He's under the impression that this forum is his, wherein he has told others to leave.
I have witnessed your forums administrator argue and provoke others into arguments/ fights, or needlessly attack other members simply on the basis he disagrees with their position on things. Then when it's returned to him he states he has " Reported them " for their actions of giving it back to him or his fellow goons. It seems this inexperienced child should not be dishing it out, if he can't take it in return. Others, as well as myself have pretty much stopped posting on this site as a result of not wanted to be singled out and attacked by your administrator and his goon squad for anything we post. ( NEW MEMBERS BE FORWARNED DON'T SAY OR POST ANYTHING THAT N.A. CORBIER OR HIS FRIENDS WILL DISLIKE AS IT WILL BE TAKEN AS CONTEMPT OF ADMINISTRATION - A CRIME.
We have heard and endured his boring, overly self inflated ego maniacal comments that our grammar is in correct, that our posting makes no sense, and his other little petty nit picking, but we grow weary of it and of him. Some of us have attempted to use the ignore for him and his friends but this feature does not permit the ignoring of your administrators on the site, well perhaps it should be allowed if this is how your administrators conduct themselves. As a result of this we have been communicating via private messages which has been nice and a pleasure, my thanks to these members who have contacted me privately.
At this time I would like to request that my account and screen name be deleted from your membership roll accordingly as I no longer wish to be associated with this forum, and I would tell the others who agree with me and are tired of the attacks by the administrator and infighting to also submit your termination request to this site accordingly.
Sincerely,
David M. Marchetti
President
Force-1 Security Agency, Incorporated.

Paul -
I rise in defense of Mr. Corbier with respect to the charges made by Mr. Marchetti in his resignation posting.
It's very difficult to find ways to disagree in a constructive way when a member is characterizing others on the board as "goons", as exemplified here, and using other insulting terms, some of which were pretty foul and unacceptable in a public forum.
No one is all bad, of course, and no one is wrong 100% of the time. I'm sure this member did have valid points to make on certain topics. It's just unfortunate that they were so often expressed in such demeaning ways, using socially unacceptable expressions, so that many of his posts were very distasteful and juvenile. Not a few of them amounted to nothing more than "rants" against various members of the forum. Others belittled and otherwise mischaracterized the law enforcement profession, which obviously does little to enhance relationships between our two communities. We cannot forget that we have members of this forum who serve all of us as police officers.
In any case, I did not personally feel that Nate Corbier overreacted, nor did he abuse or overreach his responsibilities as an administrator on this board in response to Mr. Marchetti. I'm sure that a number of members were writing to Nate requesting that something be done about the character of Mr. Marchetti's posts, and I know that Mr. Corbier showed more patience and forbearance than I would have had under similar circumstances.
Mr. Marchetti could have been under no illusions that the majority of the members on the board wanted him to "clean up his act" or take it somewhere else, and it seems that he has made his decision. No doubt, it's for the best.
Just one member's opinion, Paul.Last edited by SecTrainer; 02-16-2007 at 08:47 PM.

immature letter in my opinion. no use in calling someone a child or a goon. There are better ways of getting your point across

I guess I'm not sure I understand the purpose of the letter.
All you have to do is stop typing http://www.securityinfowatch.com into the address bar on your browser. After that, noone here will bother you anymore.

I'm really curious to see if any of his followers leave. Were there any?

Ladies and gentlemen, David has won. He got a reaction from us. To accuse Nathan of all people, is petty not to mention childish. David caused me to lose my temper and that is inexcusable. Since I am wound up I'll continue, his departure will be no loss to the forum except for those who already gave up in disgust.
Enjoy the day,
Bill

I agree with Bill, I feel it's just another ploy, or game if you will. I mean he is still listed on the membership roster.
If it is not a ruse well then buh-bye, if it is I would like to see the Admin treat the post and if there was an email, as a viable Letter of Resignation and delete his account.~Super Ninja Sniper~

Below is a glimpse of some of Mr. Marchetti's posts. If his desire is to leave, then I would call that a victory for the rest of us.

Damn it, I knew it couldn't last guys. Our clandestine membership in our super secret SIW Forum spy ring has been exposed! Oh well, we couldn't hide it forever, our membership in "Corbier's Commandos". Colonel Corbier is going to be ticked!!!! Oh well, we'll just have to kill a few more Super Forum Ninjas this week to make it up to him....
(lol)
But seriously, we all know what a plea for attention and validation looks like (and if you don't just scroll "up" and read the letter that is the 1st post in this thread lol). Other than this one post (which I could not resist), I'm not going to give the guy any more satisfaction by responing to non-sense.~Black Caesar~
