KMart LP Question

Does KMart provide any company issued ID cards or badges to use in identifying themselves to shoplifters at the time of the approach/stop?

Just spoke to two of my guys who worked for Kmart formerly. One worked there three years ago and one a year ago. Both worked for Kmart for several years and in different areas and both gave me different answers.

Three years ago- it was up to Lp mgr to take a picture and tape it to a preprinted card which had the elements and a statement saying the pictured person had authorization to apprehend. He said the LP mgr occasionally made them but did not make them use the cards.

One year ago- never heard of a formal ID, his LP mgr made them wear store name badges on lanyards around neck during approach.

Both states it was not in training to show badge.
