I know this is nothing like applying for a police department in another state (ill save that for a few more years) but...
Has anyone ever worked for small local security companies and worked with people from out of state? Im looking at applying for a few in WA and OR (mostly patrol-I love patrol more than standing a post lol). I know alot of these companies do the interview and potentially offer you the job the same day. I also know that alot of these companies want you to start immediately ( in my case im gonna need a few weeks-gotta ship my car, gather my things, i have someone i can stay with in Portland, but gotta find my own place in WA) How can i work something out like that with a local security company?
Thanks!

If you dont mind potentially starting with a job that pays 10-11/hr unarmed on a static post I'd recommend making the move then doing the application process. Security jobs are so quick to come by in WA, you shouldn't have an issue finding something basic to start with pretty much immediately.
"Alright guys listen up, ya'll have probably heard this before, Jackson vs. Securiplex corporation; I am a private security officer, I have no State or governmental authority. I stand as an ordinary citizen. I have no right to; detain, interrogate or otherwise interfere with your personal property-... basically all that means is I'm a cop."-Officer Ernie

Im a workaholic and love working overtime. I pretty much make 10 now as a patrol officer and its impossible to rent a place here living off of 10 bucks. In WA i wouldn't mind starting at a static post then working on my licenses and then applying for an armed static post or armed patrol position.
