how much is a phycological evaulation to get my temp g licence?

I am looking and calling alot of places trying to find out how much this will cost without any joy!

I sure some people on here must have had the same problem, so if any one knows anywhere in south florida (fort lauderdale) that do the phycological evaulation can you let me know

Also how long does it take to do the evaulation and what do they do and price???

Im getting some crazy prices of some people!

I think it is kind of like asking, "How much does a car cost?" Obviously, it begs the followup questions like which car? New or used? What options? So, too, with a psychological evaluation. Do you need to take an MMP!-II, a CPI, etc? What state are you referring to? Is this Florida? What price quotes have you been given? Did they quote you $500, $1,000? Also, do YOU have to pay for this or does the employer pay for this? Is this required by the state, the employer, or somebody else? Keep in mind that people on this forum are from various locations.

I'm from Florida and I already let Ryan know in a different thread that the state of Florida requires that he be sponsored by an employer to apply for a temp G and that the employer was responsible for paying for the psych eval. He's a hard charger from across the Pond who is doing whatever he can to hurry the process along, that's all. I'm guessing that he's willing to do whatever is necessary to get to work and he's trying to get all the info he can gather. I'm guessing also that the agency that is hiring him is dragging their feet at the thought of additional cost for the psych eval, which the last I had heard was anywhere from $250-$400, depending on where you went. Unfortunately, I don't have any doctors that I can recommend as I didn't bother with the temp G and just applied for the regular G and waited the 90 days for it to arrive back in '06.

I think I need to speak to the company for sure. Your right in saying im trying to hurry thr process tacticalguy. I have just got my green card so I can live and work in america so im very kean to start work here in florida now that i can. I didnt think it would take this long long to get all my licences at all!!. I chose to get into security as im a iraq war veteran from the british army so its seems the right path to take. the company loaned me the money to do the D and G course so im surprised they are not offering to pay for the psyc evaluation. 450 is the best price I have found so far,but they asked what test I require for the temp g licence and i really dont know so like I said I think have need to call the company to get some anwsers. I cant stay at home anymore its killing me!!

Understood, mate! You might want to contact the DOL directly and ask if they have a list of approved doctors that can administer the psych eval. It would be a shame if you went to a doctor that your agency recommended only to find out the state wouldn't accept the results. Cheers!

I was about to take the phsyc test for florida g too because i had a company that was going to sponsor me but they pulled out at the last minute. From what i saw in south florida most places charged $90-$100. Dont let that company jerk you around. You are better off just working unarmed until you get your g. Its alot of hassle in my opinion. I dont know how your g license application will go since you just got your green card but most people i have asked got their license back within the first month.
