I remember Palo Alto, CA PD had blue blazers a while(40 years?) ago. The one or two years they had the 'civilian' uniform assults on cops went to zero(supposedly), then went back up when they went back to "storm trooper" outfits.

At H-P they also had blazers, to mimic the Paly PD....but I digress.

I heard something about how they also carried all the duty gear inside the blazers.

Now that is interesting. I know of a couple of guys that were Burnsville cops during their "blazer" era and they claimed assault on officers went UP in that area.
