    Default Two black shoppers found to be victims of Twin Cities stores' discrimination Article

    Article by: JANE FRIEDMANN , Star Tribune

    Two black shoppers detained by employees in separate stores in the Twin Cities were victims of racial discrimination, the Minnesota Department of Human Rights announced Thursday.

    The stores, Marshalls and Walgreens Inc., agreed to settle the customers' claims, but they denied violating the law.

    Read the article.

    In both of these suspected shoplifter stops there appears to have been something missing. What do you think?

    Maybe that one store agent in each case was not able to say
    that they witnessed the person pick the item up, pocket it,
    watch the person exit the store past the last point and
    check if the person actually had a sales receipt?

    OR proof the shoplifters were not having as much "enjoyment"
    (while they were stealing) as others in the store.........
    JUST KIDDING..........I HAD TO SAY IT.

    Interesting. I wonder how many "bad stops" are made daily.

    I wonder how many organizations would catch people just
    by having profiles for shoplifters.

    My recent post allowed me to witness an camera video in an observation
    center. I knew the people there. A friend showed me a video
    of a recent "catch" he was reviewing. When I watched the video I saw
    3 women enter the store. I asked him which one of the women did he catch.
    Each women had a bag on her shoulder as they entered the store.
    He told me "I just picked the one with the biggest bag".

    The profile that works for them most is:
    BBWWBB..........
    B=big
    B=(I'll let you guess)
    W=women
    W=with
    B=big
    B=bag

    First stop i ever made was a middle aged white woman who tried to take a bunch of Kashmir sweaters. In her purse were keys to a BMW and a blsck amex card. Theres no one profile for SL baaed on your location it changes up.

    Decades ago, when I was in college, there were two girls (one Chinese, one Black) who hung out and were always "best dressed" on campus.

    Somehow, it "came out" they were a shoplifting team. LP would zone in on the Black girl, and the (dressed down and meek) Chinese would steal the store blind.

    While the Black girl was creating a minor scene and confronting and engaging LP, the other girl would slip out like she was avoiding an ugly scene.
