Most construction CAN be done by illegal aliens, and a lot is.
Security, on the other hand, generally doesn't require any exp. or qualifications but you do need a Guard Card which requires a real Govt ID check, so you aren't going to find hardly any actual illegal aliens as official guards.
I'm now seeing ads for guards who mostly don't need exp being guards, but just other "good work history"(Securitas) that are higher that wages for exp construction workers....with a bunch of their own tools, truck etc.
That would be unheard of 20 or even 10 years ago.
Granted, the construction ads will probably be hiring anyone who shows up at that wage, and the Security will be picking form a dozen or more, but still.
So I'm glad I've gotten back into security a little bit after 25 yrs in construction.

Can't say I think the wages for security are going up here in Florida.
Recent years showed me wages were down.
I never understood why any property owner would choose to cut security as a GOOD choice.
Construction though in Florida seems to be booming......my son a
block mason working as a mason foreman is making only as much as he
was 3 years ago as a mason.
