    Default Hurricane Katrina Curiousity

In my grave digging I noticed a few of ya'll worked post hurricane Katrina sites (LA, MS, etc)... Curiousity got the best of me.

Who all here worked in that area after Katrina? Who'd you work for? Where? Doing?

I worked for Securitas, our team drove down the day after thanksgiving. I worked in Slidell, Butte, Meterie, La Place and that damn Wal-mart everyone saw on the news.

I checked receipts, watched parking lots, and sat in a lawn chair, lol.

I worked Katrina with G4S. I was in New Orleans, Kenner, and Plaquemines Parish (Buras). We had a lot of different contracts. I was with the power company trying to restore power to the Parish.

Thanks Lawson, I was beginning to think I had started a dead thread, lol.
It was strange going down there for me. I was 18, and had only been working security for 5 or 6 months, and LA was only the 2nd site I had worked

I wasn't a contractor, but I was with a Coast Guard law enforcement team that deployed to New Orleans and Gulfport/Biloxi about 24 hours after Katrina made landfall. We did some escorts for Blackwater into areas that were accesible only by water. They were decent for the most part but a bit too much testosterone. We also participated in some humanitarian aid efforts with some guys from Dyncorp as well as G4S. And yes, we did have an opportunity to visit the famous Wal-Mart.

I spent most of my Walmart time in a lawn chair 20 feet from a very pissed off NOPD cop who refused to speak lol
