Just saw on local news. Not much more than the agent making a stop on a M/B suspect stealing T-shirts. Suspect fired at least 3 rounds killing the LP agent
Will post a link when I can get one

what is a "M/B suspect" and was LP wearing a vest?
This is why I've never worked LP....you are actually supposed to get 'up close and personal' with criminals and it has got to be major stress on a group that has huge % of flat out crazy folks.
I've heard of LP where they are sole "agent" at the store...whereas shoplifters are known to work in teams. Setup waiting to happen.
90% of time the COPS will have at least one other cop behind you when the main cop doing the arrest is talking to you.

NOT trying to disrespect this AP in any way...
But you really have to catch the perp by surprise and but him in a position were he is in-able to react. The SECOND his hands moved towards his pockets or waist band, he would be wrapped up and eating tile. You've got to expect anything at anytime. Things happened quickly. As soon as they do a quick move, I wrap them up, take them down, and cuff them.
It sounds like this man gave the perp way too much leeway and just wasn't paying attention to what needed to be.
