Default Target Logistics - "Deployment style" security in North Dakota

    http://tbe.taleo.net/NA12/ats/career...GISTICS&cws=39

This is my current employer. We don't have any current security openings at the moment, but for those interested, it's worth keeping an eye on.

Work is done in "man-camps" in North Dakota. The lodges are for oil field service workers for the current oil boom in the Bakken Oil Field region in North Dakota. Work is unarmed, and is usually checking passes at the gate, and doing foot patrols around the facilities.

Target Logistics provides you with your own dorm room. Typical rooms include a bed, TV with cable, DVD player, free wifi, closet, desk, sink, medicine cabinet, AC/Heater, and "Jack & Jill" bathroom/shower (you share toilet and shower with your neighbor). They also provide you cooked meals (free of charge) as well as snacks, soda, bottled water, etc... Most facilities have TV lounges, smoking rooms, free washer/dryer (free soap too), workout gyms, and an on-site convenience store.

You provide your own travel to and from North Dakota, and they will typically provide free shuttle service from the airport/train/bus station to the camp. You can also choose to drive to the camp.

You work 6-weeks on and get 2-weeks off. 12hr shifts, 7-days a week. Pay is $10/hr for 40hrs, $15/hr for OT (44hrs a week typically unless extra OT is assigned).

For those of you who have been asking about how to get into disaster response security, and what it takes, as someone who has done disaster response, I think this would be a good starting point for those who have never experienced working away from home. It's also a good way to bank up a little bit of money if you're trying to pay off a bill or two.

"Alright guys listen up, ya'll have probably heard this before, Jackson vs. Securiplex corporation; I am a private security officer, I have no State or governmental authority. I stand as an ordinary citizen. I have no right to; detain, interrogate or otherwise interfere with your personal property-... basically all that means is I'm a cop."-Officer Ernie
