Training
Hey everyone,
When I was with United Security, before deployment to my site, I had to take a Security Officer Basic Course (SOBC, when the new company took over, I just had to go through an orientation) this course was unpaid as a condition of employment. The course went over patrol functions, customer service, working with emergency responders, building/site tours/patrols, etc.
After arriving to my job site, I had to under-go an additional 40 hour training program. This was mostly learning about the procedures of the building, printing of building badges, CPR/AED certification, building tours, etc.
Each Quater, as required by the client, all officers and supervisors (unless there are already on shift/post) must attend a paid 4 hour training session, usually held in January/Febuary and June/July timeframes. This past traning session was first aid certifcation, while others have delt with updated building tenets/building procedures, fire life safety and Fire Extingushers, and HAZMAT response. Our next training is supposed to deal with Live Shooter situtions.

SOBC (one day), then two days of courses covering Customer Service, Clery Act (campus only), FERPA, Cust Svc, Emergency Preparedness, things like that... SOBC is unpaid, the rest is paid
