What does cleared & uncleared mean?
I enforce rules and regulations, not laws.

Security Clearance?
"Alright guys listen up, ya'll have probably heard this before, Jackson vs. Securiplex corporation; I am a private security officer, I have no State or governmental authority. I stand as an ordinary citizen. I have no right to; detain, interrogate or otherwise interfere with your personal property-... basically all that means is I'm a cop."-Officer Ernie

Sorry for the confusion folks ..... a cleared person has a security clearance and works at a site that has national security implications in your country. This can be in just about any country that uses contract or proprietary security. This can be a military base, defense contractor, power generating facility, chemical plant and so forth. If you have a clearance you know it. If you are asking what one is, then you probably don' have one.
An uncleared person is doesn't have a clearance and can work just about anywhere .... a hotel, a resort, a store, a mall, a private community, an office building and the like.Last edited by Son-Of-A-Pilot; 06-22-2012 at 08:58 PM.

One of my sites is a major harbor here which is thus subject to ISPS international regulations, though wouldn't necessarily called "cleared" as all the ISPS stuff seems to be a fancy name for what is basically the same as regular access control.
