Default uh oh, another "surprize" drill, this time on public college campus.

Too bad there didn't happen to be some guy with CCW on him, or some random off duty cop. Then maybe Sgt Henoch could have gotten shot.

Default Yes, he deserved to be shot for helping to educate people...?

The article indicates nothing went wrong. I’m sure the intro was just some journalist’s way to grab your attention. I have participated in such drills, and there is extensive oversight. And as far as someone with a concealed carry license, I don’t know how things work where you’re from, but around here there are no guns allowed on campus regardless of whether or not a person has a concealed license.

"Too bad there didn't happen to be some guy with CCW on him, or some random off duty cop. Then maybe Sgt Henoch could have gotten shot" - Really? You're rooting for Sgt. Henoch to have been shot? Are you drunk posting?

    Default interesting

I think what squid was interpreting to say is that you never know if someone would have had a CCW and took matters in their own hands, But as far as these "Drills" go im sure they do alot of reaserch and plan everything out before they do them, at least I would think they would lol.

I'm giving Squid a chance to explain himself before I send this post into oblivion.

Default it has become fashionable to scare members of public, so then some

Dr Phil type can feel all important as he explains to the victims how they felt and how they are supposed to react.

Normally, these "presenters" or "consultants" will be told by their audience's "I've got stuff to do, put it on one piece of paper and I'll read it later...maybe".....so they like to put on a "mock assault" so they don't just get dismissed along with the guy with the Save the Whales petition.

Obviously, such 'mock assaults' done anywhere outside of a secure Hollywood sound stage are 'accidents waiting to happen'.

I'd think it would be quite likely an "Armed Citizen"(quite possibly a Armed Guard) would conclude someone's life was in danger and "take the shot".

Here is how I see it unfolding....

an armed person sees "people he knows"(like college employees in this case) obviously very scared for their lives and an unknown deranged acting man with a gun threatening their lives. Our "armed person" might not put himself in the line of fire and saunter out asking 'is this real' and might well take his first shot while concealing himself, or his gun, from the 'actors'. I've always thought the "no warning shots" was a flawed concept.

Do I have to explain everything?

PS-while "gun and other weapons are prohibited on campus" no one plays attention and no one checks. You can assume anyone who normally carries wont even think about "campus".

Squid None of what you said makes sense. You do have to.eplain yourself, because you know what caught our attention seeing.how you edited your post. Spewing all that random drivel (I've never heard of un announced active ahooter drills)
can only be compared to.johnny.cochrans 'chewbacca' defense on south park.

This is stupid. The OP is taking the (poorly written) 1st paragraph out of context. This was an active shooter workshop for staff and faculty, the people in that campus community center knew that. The article says nothing about any surprise drills or any students involved.

When reading anything, you have to 1st consider the source. This is a student newspaper article, these folks are just learning how to write, as you can see by how disjointed and incomplete the article is.

Just a clear example of a poster reading too much into something he reads.
