Just wanted to say that the newest materials coming out of the IFPO and IAHSS for security officer certification have really made some significant improvements. I hope this is a trend that continues.

A co-worker just ordered IFPO's SSMP products. Any info on this product?

Personally, I'd like to see more business-related content (for instance, budgeting and forecasting) to justify the word "management" in the title. I don't think it trains managers adequately - and I really wouldn't expect any single resource to do so. The course really only gives a glimpse into management.

However, the 3rd edition is fine for training supervisors, who can then use other resources (for instance, relevant courses offered by the American Management Association or Gatlin/Ed2Go) to fill in the business gaps if they can't or are not inclined to pursue a degree.
