View Full Version : Twin Cities Part Time?

I'm getting very, very, bored. Therefore, I'm wondering if anyone knows of any twin cities (Minnesota) area security companies that have part time (hell, even full time) positions. I'm interested, of course, in smaller companies that searching on these forums does not result in multiple tirades against them by myself or my "commando squad."
Yes, I consider GSSC a smaller company, especially when by "large" I'm talking about "In most of the US or in multiple countries, and has a pawn shop logo."
While I still do websites and stuff, I'm becoming more and more ... well... I haven't had to do security work since 2007, and that was as a temp employee of a company that was doing movie premieres. (Guess we all know what that gig was. PIRATES.)
PM me or reply.
In before someone says Avalon, I would like to make at least the SEIU award wage, plz.
If you looking for a higher wage try Hannon Security. From what I have heard talking with a few of the officers that work for them they pay well for a contract security company.
I have never worked for them. But as I have said I have talked with few of there officers that work for them and have heard the pay is about as good as your going to get in Minnesota for contract security.
As for getting a job doing security with the companies I know, I would have to know you. So I can not help you on that. Sorry.
And you do want to work for Avalon? I hear that is a great company to work for. LOL

Well, I have always thought that the big mall was the best around for security. They have openings for Special Operations Officers, Security Officers, and Special Operations information analyst/dispatcher. I think they are all full time. The pay could be better but they do offer in-house bennies and interesting work.
As far as the contract companies, I have always liked GSSC. Hannon isn't too bad and American and Securitas even have their place. As you well know, the thing with contract security is getting the right account.

The pay can always be better, but if I remember correctly that mall certifies in MEB, PATH, OC, and Verbal Judo. Nice to have when all your stuff is years lapsed.
I was sorta wondering where applying to place like ICON would put me. Due to my ties (which, btw, are simply client/vendor for those of you who read this, I have no personal relationship with the firm) with one company, I've wondered if other companies (that read these forums) think I'm some kind of "spy" for that firm.
I have no reason to spy for a particular firm, honestly. You all do the same things, you all know what accounts each company has, and you all have bigger things to deal with, like the Minneapolis Police Department's massive off-duty services which I understand everyone wants a cut of.

I don't know too much about ICON. I think they are small and I am guess the pay and bennies might be a little suspect...as would be the accounts.
Getting an in-house position would be best to alleviate any concerns about "spying" for another firm.
The training and certs you can get at the mall are fantastic. However, with other irons in the fire like you have, a job at the desk where you just maintain access control might be just what the doctor ordered.
I like the bigger firms for the variety they offer. When I was with the company that became Securitas I was at a large account the had stationary, base operator, and patrol positions.
