For any K9 handlers out there that might be interested. This gig is CONUS throughout 10 states.

RONCO Consulting Corporation (RONCO) and American K9 (AMK9) have teamed together in a proposal to provide Explosive Detector Dog Teams (EDDTs) to 10 IRS facilities throughout the United States. Most of the positions require a full time EDDT for a year-long assignment. The contract specifies that the IRS will require EDDTs for five years (Base plus 4 Options). The geographic locations of the sites are listed below.

The targeted IRS sites are located in the following cities. Full time+ assignments require overtime or 10-hour shifts while ½ year assignments require extensive EDD coverage during Tax Return season.
1.Austin, Texas (1/2 year assignment; January - May)
2.Kansas City, Missouri (1/2 year assignment; January - May)
3.Covington, Kentucky (Full time+ assignment)
4.Detroit, Michigan (Full time+ assignment)
5.Ogden, Utah (Full time+ assignment)
6.Martinsburg, West Virginia (2 Full time assignments; Enterprise Computing Center)
7.Washington, District of Columbia (Full time+ assignment; 1111 Constitution Ave.)
8.Lanham, Maryland (Full time+ assignment; New Carrollton Federal Building)
9.Fresno, California (1/2 year assignment; January – June)
10.Memphis, Tennessee (Full time+ assignment)

RONCO and AMK9 will not reimburse handlers for relocating to an assigned site. Additionally, selected EDD handlers will be required to lease or own a residence with a fenced back yard that will accommodate a quality K9 kennel provided by RONCO/AMK9.


Responsibilities:
RONCO and AMK9 anticipate providing each full time EDD handler with the following:

a) Salary of $45,000 - $50,000 per year; some overtime
b) Limited benefits package
c) Leased K9 Vehicle plus fuel allowance
d) Uniforms and duty gear
e) K9 Equipment to include leads, collars, reward toy, and feed
f) K9 Kennel
g) K9 Veterinarian Care
h) Laptop and Cell phone


Qualifications:
In order to staff these positions, RONCO and AMK9 need handlers with the following background:

a) Recent and extensive (2+ years) security and/or law enforcement experience (military, police, commercial contract).
b) Recent and documented experience (1+ years) as a successful EDD handler.
c) EDD handling Training and Certification from recognized authority (Military – DoD/Lackland; Federal Government – TSA, Secret Service, ATF; Police Licensing Authority such as POST or TCLEOSE; Commercial Training Facilities – VLK, Global).
d) Copies of Certifications; Current CV or Resume; Copies of EDDT Utilization and Training Records.
e) Ability to pass and maintain IRS EDDT certification
f) Demonstrated maturity, self-control, patience, and ability to self-supervise.
g) Competent with computer and associated programs such as Word and Excel.
h) Excellent written, oral, and listening communication skills.
i) Ability to interact well with public.
j) Ability to work with and integrate into IRS security teams
i) Trained EDD

Wow, very, very nice benefits. The cost value of those benefits is huge.
