I am a Chief Engineer of a couple of High Rise Towers in the San Diego Area. We have recently purchased and installed Simplex Grinnell's SafeLINC card which will allow us to monitor our Fire System through the Web. The main reason we purchased this upgrade is for its "e-mail notification" system which is supposed to send any user selected alarms, reports, etc to designated e-mail accounts. However this card is still not operational. Has anyone ever heard of "SafeLINC" and if so have you experienced any problems with it?
I am a newbie so I apologize in advance if I post this in the wrong forum. Thanks and have a great day!

We've got some folks on here who, even though they may not be familiar with that particular solution from SimplexGrinnell, at least will understand the generalities of adding a web server interface to your fire system.
I'm curious, when you say the card is still not operational, what does that mean? Does that mean it hasn't been configured (network dropped, assigning of a fixed IP (I think that is required), and all of the network settings)? Or that the card was DOA?
My first suggestion would be to make sure you have it configured correctly (pull in the IT staff if you need a hand with the DNS/IP type stuff).
Hope it works out for you; adding a web and email interface to your fire alarm system is pretty cool functionality.
