Folks, this is a good gig. Campus atmosphere, outstanding benefits, great working relationship with the local law (the Director is a contracted Sheriff's Office sergeant, and PLU has "contract city" status with the Pierce County Sheriff's Department).

I interviewed for this spot closing in on 10 years ago, and only recall 2 drawbacks:
1- The pay was low at that time- $35k yearly. I'm sure it's risen in response to inflation.
2- The second step of the interview (the first being an interview with the Director) was a "community interview". The first questions were asked by current Ops Supes, then campus members got their chance to ask questions. One asked me "what would you do if you saw a black male raping a white female?" Well, I'd intervene. "Why did you answer so fast? Because he's black? Would you be more lenient if he were white?"
Etc.

I walked out of the interview.

But I'd still take the job.
