if it's a temporary duty with notice sent to the state you can do it with a D and a G other wise by law you are required to have a C or CC and a G. That is for armed work.

You are going to want the Class D (Security Lic) Class C-CC (PI or Intern Lic) and the Class G (Statewide Firearms Lic). Do not confuse the Class G with the W or Concealed Weapons Lic- in Florida. The G is for working professionals to carry legally as part of their duties. The W- Concealed Weapons is for John Q Public -personal defense i.e.: non-work related!

As mad malk stated- you can do temp assignments with just the D&G plain cloth- but to do it full time you will want the C-CC. That said I would recommend getting and keeping all 3 lic. Of course - it goes without saying you will have to park those licenses under an agency licensed in the State - or the corporation you work for will have to get the OK from the DOL.

Hope that helps

Good Luck right now getting those licenses.
Florida has over 300 thousand CCW (Concealed Carry) license applications backed up and that's crashing the whole system. I had foolishly let my "G" (Statewide Firearms License) expire and applied in early January, they just cashed the check last week and the license has not been started as of this week per an email from Tallahassee.
The other challenge is that to get a "C" you must have TIG with a "CC" and very few people with "C" will sponsor you right now.
Of course, a chaffeur or personal biographer or whatever with a FL CCW can go along with folks armed to the teeth, but I didn't say that....

ah yes almost forgot to get a CC now in florida requires you to take a training class which is offered in very few places currently 8 listed locations according to the Florida Dept. of Education. and you must now take a test for your C unless your grandfathered in.
