Sometimes EP and PI folks get involved in situations where knowing who's calling is very important. Unfortunately, those are the very calls that are likely to have caller ID blocked.
If your principal or client is receiving harassing or threatening phone calls, if someone is probing to see if they'e home, etc., you'll want to check out TrapCall, which reveals blocked caller ID's. Service ranges from free to $24.95/month if you want the caller's name & address. A call routes to the unmasker and returns to you with the ID and other info (depending on your plan), while all the caller hears is the phone ringing.
..and, TrapCall can also block calls, and provide SMS messages with your voicemail messages transcribed (not the free version) for when you can't take calls.
