Folks,
Tom puts together a very good course and as many of you know you have to have this qualification if you are going to do EP work in Virginia. I have been through several of Tom’s courses and he teaches superbly. If you take a look at the review on SOCNET (see link below) you will find very detailed descriptions of what you might expect. No one should drop $1800-$2200 lightly but I think you will find Tom’s PPS course as good as it gets in Virginia and a good value for the money.

Protection Specialist Training (032E): 02/9/09 – 02/14/09 6 Days (72) hours
Course Cost: $1,800.00
CCJA’s training course is designed for the experienced protection specialist and the novice alike. This unique training course covers a wide range of high level protection specialist security skills in permissive and semi-permissive environments. This six day training course is very intensive; it is not just a classroom training course. From the first day you will be challenged with practical training exercises that will progressively build and culminate in Final Training Exercise (FTX). This course is a unique opportunity to experience the intensity of real protective detail operations, to meet industry representatives and to learn basic and advanced techniques in executive protection.
Commonwealth Security’s personal protection specialists training combines real world experience from CCJA’s instructor staff coupled with the knowledge and skill from our guest speakers including US Secret Service and US Marshal Service as well as other industry professionals.
Additional training for those who want to become Armed PPS Agent’s:
Advanced Handgun for the Protection Specialist (09E)
Course Dates: February 20th, 21st, 22nd, in the classroom and February 23rd on the Range
Course Length: 24 Hours Course Cost: $400
If you do not have a current 07E endorsement – contact the training school prior to the 09E course. (07E) Course February 17th, 18th, 19th 2009.
Topics Covered: Proper Care and Maintenance, Civil/Criminal Liability, Weapon Retention, Deadly Force, Range Safety, Practical Firearms Handling, Principles of Marksmanship, Decision-Making for the Personal Protection Specialist.
