Hand held video

We have designated videographers during certain types of operations. We have been unhappy with the quality of the video from our current cameras (Sony Handicam on Mini DV format). Does anyone have recommendations for hand-held cameras that are reliable and shoot really good video? Low light capabilities a major plus.

Excellent, high definition video, beautiful color, looks pretty good in low light, pretty cheap.
