Yes it looks like a good job. I am in the West Palm Beach area. I looked on Craigs List but its not there,I guess they pulled it. Perhaps the position has been filled.

It might not be filled. This employer doesn't hurry. Worth looking into.

I worked this post for three years. Confidentiality and professional ethics preclude more. I'm recommending it as an entry level, Domestic Protection/Estate Security job. Nuff said.
I left for better pay, more training and career growth opportunities in Nuclear Security, Four on, four off, I still work freelance DP days off. We are also hiring. It is still entry level work. The real money is in supervision...

My bad, I should have done my due diligence. A former co worker called to advise me of this post and told me it was our old employer, Symax Security. I recognized the Director of Security's name and assumed I was getting good information and posted the opening. Sorry all.

I just finished working all last week at that post, getting acquainted with the routines and etc. If Mr. Huley would have had a full time day or evening shift, I would be there from now on. As it is, I am one of the "seasonal" guys. If any one is interested in full time, overnight, I can't recommend this place enough. The pay starts at $15. The Director is one of the easiest guys to work for, ever. He wants a very professional team working for him and if you can be an asset, he'll take care of you. If you could choose a boss to work for, this guy would be him.

Tactical Guy, everybody I talk to speaks well of this post. Estate Security is sweet. I'm up at the nuclear plant in Jensen Beach now because it pays, the training is tops and there is more career growth opportunity, but I really miss my old estate job.
Consequently, I do all the fill in work I can. (A four on, four off schedule helps! And there is a lot of seasonal and temporary work here.) Networking here and on Tactical Forums has gotten me a lot of good, solid side work. I always try to return the favor, and pass on all the work I can.
I'm also always happy to meet with other, local professionals too, one of the reasons I post under my own name. I'm only a couple of licenses away from starting my own agency, just for placing Estate Security staff.

Mike,
Do you think Tactical Forums would be a good place to find someone looking to hire a guy with extensive tactical training? LOL. A buddy of mine is starting his own company right now. He is getting the hard copy of his state license the first of the year. He just set the company up as an LLC. He is looking to primarily go after armed contracts, especially anything where federal money is spent. Any ideas?

Might have a few ideas. Can I call you over the weekend?

Oh, I should also state that this guy is a disabled veteran. He is going to not only have veteran's preference but, also disabled veteran's preference for any contract he goes after where they receive federal funding. We want to pursue Section 8 housing, especially.

Tell your buddy good luck using the Service Disabled Veteran Preference, my company is SDVOSB and it pretty much does diddly squat for contracts. Government contracts take past performance of that company which pretty much means sub-contracting for new companys. The way it works in south Florida is what ever company charges the least and you pretty much see the talent pool of most contracts in south Florida. Quality goes right out the door. We run the State G course and we pretty much have to reteach most of our students that come in for the 4 Hour re certification because of there lack of training from the 28 course and trust me a large percentage do not try to better there skills with follow on training. Its a long road getting started in this industry. As I said best of luck. What company are you working for now in Florida? Send me a PM
