I understand that Union College Campus Safety may have an opening for a campus safety officer in the near future. The position is non-sworn, unarmed, and requires operating a motor vehicle for escort and trolley service.
I understand from the Director of Campus Safety that Union College Campus Safety Officers may become "Peace Officers" under NY State Law this year, if the State Legislature approves the College's request, and enacts a law authorizing such appointments.
