Executive Protection / Personal Protection Specialist Course

CCJA is offering a one stop shop for those who want to become Personal Protection Specialist in the State Of Virginia the following courses will certify the student in either Armed or Unarmed PPS Agent’s in order for them to obtain registration and firearms endorsement.
Protection Specialist Training (032E): 9/29/08 – 10/4/08 6 Days (72) hours
CCJA’s training course is designed for the experience protection specialist and the novice alike. This unique training course covers a wide range of high level protection specialist security skills in permissive and semi-permissive environments. The course is going to be at quite a fast pace, there will be classroom and hands on training based on protection techniques, which are relevant and includes:
Introduction to the Protection Specialist
Organization of a Protective Service Detail (PSD)
Command post procedures
Ethics & Professionalism and Contracts
Protocol & dress
Virginia Codes & Regulations
Law (Constitutional, Criminal, Civil).
Advance surveys—preparation and planning
Protective Detail Operations
Briefings – detail or principle
Formations & Tactics
Crowd Control
Arrivals & Departures
Motorcade Operations
Surveillance Detection
Defensive Tactics
TEMS Medical Training to include American Red Cross First Aid & CPR
Assessment of Threat and Protectee Vulnerability risk analysis
Bomb Threats and to respond and sweep for IED’s & WMD.
Use of Force
Residential Security
Terrorist Operations
Assault on Principal Drills
5 practical exercises as well as final FTX
This six day training course is very intensive; most of the time will be spent covering in depth practical training, classroom training, and realistic exercises. There is a lot of information to learn on the course, a unique opportunity.
Using the vast experience from Commonwealth Security’s personal protection specialists and the real world experience from CCJA’s instructor staff coupled with the knowledge and skill from our guest speakers from US Secret Service and the US Marshal Service to name just a few.
Then for those who want to become Armed PPS Agent’s the following classes must be taken in this order:
Entry Level Handgun for the Protection Specialist (07E)
Course Dates: October 6th – 7th in the classroom October 8th on the Range
Course Length: 14 Hours Course Cost: $180
Topics Covered: Firearm Care and Maintenance. Civil/Criminal Liability, Firearm Retentions and Storage, Deadly Force, Range Safety, Principles of Marksmanship, Firearms Handling and Safety, Judgmental Shooting, Low Light Shooting Familiarization.
Advanced Handgun for the Protection Specialist (09E)
Course Dates: October 9th,10th, 11th in the classroom October 12th on the Range
Course Length: 24 Hours Course Cost: $425
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Handgun (07E).
Topics Covered: Proper Care and Maintenance, Civil/Criminal Liability, Weapon Retention, Deadly Force, Range Safety, Practical Firearms Handling, Principles of Marksmanship, Decision-Making for the Personal Protection Specialist.
