"Today, junior bodyguards, our lesson is entitled "What Not To Do With Your Thing When You Pee"....

Why does Blair's body guard need a fire-arm? Great Britain weapons laws have been so effective at stopping violent crime that, I thought, no one needed a weapon to protect themselves. Makes you go hmmmmm.

By the way, yes, that was sarcasm.

Looks like this kind of thing happens more than we know.

It happens all the time. And quite honestly if you carry a gun, 24/7; it becomes much less special. Thus it is easy to forget it or loose it, just like people loose pens.

It is a common occurance as MJW writes when you are armed 24/7. Sure it's a moment's lack of full concentration. The results for a serious incident always remain the same, the potential remains. Just as you're leaving the restroom you are struck on the head, weapon and ID are taken. Officer presence goes just so far. The bottom feeders are there.
Many years ago a FBI friend of mine was in a Washington's National Airport waiting area when he suffered a leg cramp. Out popped his S&W 9mm from an ankle holster and slid across the floor. Sure he was embarrassed. A fellow traveller seated across from him put his foot out to stop the forward progress of the errant weapon. The agent got up and retrieved his weapon, replacing it and all was right with the world. For the remainder of the waiting time, both feet were flat on the floor.
Guys and gals, stuff happens!
Enjoy the day,
Bill

Sure stuff happens. This is why I always leave the house with at least six guns. That way after a day's activities, losing guns here and there, I might end up with at least one weapon still on my person just in case I come home and walk into a burglary in progress.
