Oak76 posted this link http://www.disasterofficers.com/ at the end of page 19 on a job thread at Tactical Forum. DisasterOfficers.Com is Critical Intervention Services. CIS is affiliated with the S2 Institute, http://www.s2institute.com/. This is a squared away, well connected and growing security affiliation. If you have long term plans to work security in Florida, particularly on the high end, this could be worth looking into. If/when we ever have a Katrina event, here in Florida, it would not surprise me if DO/CIS/S2 has a major role.

Nice, thanks for the information.

Now, between $1,925.00 and $3,150.00 per week is not bad but I would like to know how many hours are worked per week. I would also like to know if you're declared an independent contractor or an employee.

Good question, Probably an independent contractor, but I don't know about the hours worked and this is a new venture so there is no precedent to look at. I haven't looked at the site yet. My hurricane duties are locked in already. Pay should be time and a half for anything over 40 hours with this group. Now how many hours a week will it take to make posted rates of pay? Any hurricane duty I've ever done, the days where as long as you could work, (I don't sleep well.) as many days in a row as you wanted, till it was over. It's only for a week or so. Feed me, give me hot showers and a chance to network, it's money in the bank. One of the guys affiliated with this link posts here. I don't think he is the kind of guy to come on and promote himself, but he may come on to clarify now that the link is posted.

I believe working security as an IC is a liability, and against the law. Especially if a lot of orders, rules, regs are barked. And it's a great way for companies to avoid paying worker comp.

I checked this site out. Submitted my name and information via the site 3 days ago and I haven't heard anything back :-( Not even a "we received your info" notification.
