A gang armed with screwdrivers and a hammer forced their way into a co-op store where a security guard was making a cash delivery. The guard was forced onto the floor and hit in the head with a hammer. He was not thought to be seriously injured since he was wearing a helmet, which was knocked off during the encounter.
