Two injured in nightclub shooting
A shooting that happened early Saturday at the Cherry Lounge nightclub on West Napier Avenue left two Macon men injured, according to police.

About 4:25 a.m., 32-year-old Marcus Greene was shot while working as a bouncer at the club, according to police. Police said Greene was attempting to break up a fight involving at least three patrons.

He remains in stable condition at The Medical Center of Central Georgia with injuries that are not life-threatening, police Sgt. Zac Self said.

Cedric Poole, 28, was shot in the lower body as he attempted to run away from the scene, Self said. Police said it was unclear if he was involved in the altercation.

He was treated at the Medical Center for injuries that were not life-threatening.

The incident remains under investigation.

"We are looking at possible suspects," Self said. "We will not be releasing their names until warrants are signed."

Anyone with information is asked to call Macon police at (478) 751-7500 or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at (877) 68-CRIME.
