So my partner and I are watching a guy the other night, he grabs a 12pk of beer (being a grocery store here in MN it .32 beer, you get more alcohol from mouthwash) and he walks out, we stop him, take him by the arms and he slips out of his coat aand runs like a trakc star out the lot and down the street.
We got our $7.99 12 pack back.
We now have a very nice $300 Phat Farm leather coat that looks to be less than a week old. We alos have the nice watch he slipped out of. All he has to do is come back, be processesed for shoplifting and he can have it back.
If he doesn't come abck in a week, Goodwill get a real nice donation. :)

This is exactly why I get up and go to work every day. Great job on recovering more possibly stolen items.
And the beer.
Can't forget the important stuff, after all.

Quebec civil code would require us to hold it for 60 days before we could give it away.

I think I had that beer once in the USA on my first trip - I was 19 and it was called `water` - bleeeeeeh !!! Lite beer - poor excuse for water !!!
2 years back I had 2 S/L's run out of a store through 2 exits and drop bags. I recovered some small items and the other bag had about 9 wallets inside. I checked for ID in each one and compiled a manifest before sealing them each in evidence banks. Calling the police, I noticed 1 ID that looked like S/L #2 and when the police arrived, I had completed my statement and paperwork with CCTV footage to confirm my evidence. Later that day, both S/L's were arrested at another retailer by the same police who arrived for my incident.
Lesson learnt - if you are going to steal don't leave behind your ID.

sounds like the guy that filled out an application at a gas station, robbed it, and when they checked the app, he used his real name and address and was arrested later that day at the apt. complex next door lol.
