As I am reading your post. The Fox News Channel began talking about the story. It appears to me that the Police are the targets. So much for the "City of Brotherly Love". It's a terrible shame that the peoples defenders are no being assisinated.

Be Safe,

Hank

It would appear the crime prevention initiative launched by the police last month has rounded a sinister corner. The thugs are not going to move out of their neighborhoods and are taking a stand against the police. The ambush was a favorite tactic several years ago is now in vogue. What was past is prologue. If the criminal elements are successful, expect this modus operandi to spread, perhaps to other crime infested areas elsewhere.
Enjoy the day,
Bill

I just don't understand why that gunman fired on the officer. He took a chance, robbed a store and got caught in the act. Give it up - at least he might be paroled. Now he's finished and a family is destroyed. :(

If people used good sense like that all of us, each and every one, would all be out of jobs. Security, Law Enforcement and the Military will always exist because, simply, there will always be people who want what others have but don't want to work for it.

Hadn't really linked it with laziness, but you're right - that's exactly what it boils down too.

Bill,

A few years ago, maybe 2 years ago now MS-13 had put out a hit on all PG County, Maryland police officers. I also, if memory serves correctly believe MS-13 also put a hit on a Montgomery County, Maryland police officer.

You are dead on correct. They can get away with it in El Salvador and they think that is true here in the states. Not going to work!

MS-13 is the most brutal gang in the DC Metro area. It's only getting worse, and sadly, some people think they are just some neighborhood wannabe gang. I have to give kudo's to our law enforcement and prosecution, because they are making EXCELLENT arrests lately. Bill, have you noticed that more and more cases are going to the federal level, instead of state level?

Yes I have, these punks get longer and harder time when they go to Alexandria Federal Court, aka "The Rocket Docket."
The same applies when they go to Greenbelt. Ya gotta love it!

Indeed, I am lovin' it! The State Court is being way to "nice", especially to repeat offenders. I'm glad someone woke the heck up and decided to take these cases Federal.

US Marshals and numerous jurisdictions caused this thing to be picked up in a Miami Florida homeless shelter. The thing is awaiting extradition back to PA.
It might take awhile, but if these things are still on the planet, Marshals will get them. Dumbest thing to do is resist or try a shooting match, they'll lose. USMS uses a three string volley, two center mass and one to the head.

These ms-13 gang bangers are real tough when they are in numbers or in an ambush, but how many times have you heard of them fighting to the death with police / marshalls.

Like most tough guys, they talk a good game but pi** in their pants when it's life or death for them. They usually choose life.

Curtis, by any chance do they have a federal regional gang/fugitive task force in operation there?
They might want to ask the USA for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania to get permission from DOJ, new AG in town, to establish one. They work wonders. See if Supervisory DUSM Herb Smith is still there. He can provide introductions. He is a good guy and a damn fine cop! We did some neat things together.

Some facts I came up with about MS-13 for those of us not as familiar with them:

Formed in LA in the 1980's by refugees from El Salvador.

+ / - 10,000 in US alone operating in cells or cliques. 50,000 to 1000,000 members world wide.

MS-13 is known to be as far north as Alaska, I've even read of them being in the Toronto Montreal Vancouver areas.

Some tattoos include telephone area codes and MS-13 in 'gothic style' font.

Many hand signs, as most street gangs.

Below are a couple links to stories regarding them that I found interesting.

Real good documentary, giving an overview of their beginnings and they present.

MS-13 is like an antibiotic resistant plague and appears to be reaching all over our nations street's.

Be safe out there if they're willing to off LEO's then S/O's are even fairer game no doubt, especially those who are unarmed.
