hey guys was wonding if any of you know of any companies hiring. the account i was working just got there budget cut and since i was the new guy i lost my shift. any security co thats has nights shifts . any heads up would help

i was working at securitas but the full time account i was at got there budget cut and since i was the newist guy i lost my shift i got 7 months in with a diff company and i am in school for L.E now

Look in the paper since there have been a fair amount of decent in house hospital gigs open. they tend to pay better, have actual benefits and provide better experience.

Introduction

There are 2 full time opportunities currently available (day, evening, nights and/or weekend hours).
Responsibilities
• Inspect buildings and grounds and investigate safety hazards and suspicious situations;
• Maintain order among employees, patients, visitors or court commitments to a correctional institution;
• Respond to requests for assistance such as transfer of money, escort services, guidance for lost patients or visitors and assistance with difficult patients;
• May assist in restraining agitated psychiatric patients; May physically restrain clients and provide secure escort;
• May be required to administer emergency First Aid and/or Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation;
• Maintain lost and found; Explain safety and security procedures--may instruct employees in use of safety equipment;
• Assist during safety drills; Direct emergency evacuation until police/fire personnel arrive;
• Check and maintain safety and security equipment;
• Secure building area by locking and unlocking doors at scheduled times;
• May physically expel unruly persons;
• Prepare reports and maintain records; Maintain a security control log and record duties, activities and events;
• Inspect all buildings and grounds, as directed, to insure that buildings are secure;
• Maintain observation of areas following organized activities to keep records of any property damage;
• Note and report information concerning security control during inspection;
• Enforce Minnesota state laws;
• Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
• Successful completion of two years of college or technical college coursework in a criminal justice field (e.g., police science, law enforcement, corrections) OR two years of security experience such as military police, industrial, proprietary experience within the last eight years.
• Prior security experience in a hospital setting is HIGHLY PREFERRED.

• Must possess a valid Minnesota Class “D” drivers license and a satisfactory driving record including no more than two moving violations in the last three years of licensure.
• Final candidates will be required to pass Background Investigation, Psychological Evaluation, Medical Examination, and a Drug/Alcohol Test prior to employment

Try Twin City Security. They're pretty small but nice people. Also, ABM Security (formerly American Commercial Security Services). Then there is Per Mar Security, headquartered in Davenport, IA. They are pretty large, but also good people.
