I really like the requirement of a college degree, that just about disqualified 90% of good agents.

If a degree was the answer then the problem would be sloved! but that's not the case if you have the desire determination and dedication you can accomplish what you will! Personal Protection has to be a part of you to some it's like breathing it comes natural. A degree is like icing the topping could go on CRAP!! or a slowly baked home made cake! Protect with Honor.

This is a top tier gig with a global CEO or the equivilent, the degree requirement is more or less to assure that the person interacting with the principle, his immediate family or his Co. personnel on a constant & close level, daily, is not a complete blubbering idoit, and can conduct him/her selves in a dignified & professional manner in conversation & demeener...not that a degree gives anyone that ( I know alot of stupid college grads) but it weeds out 99% of the idiots that might otherwise try.
BTW - in todays job market (in most any highly paid field), if your not working towards or already have a degree in something..you are going to be left behind those that do...it is that simple and this is no different..obviously. Yoda

And the 10% that qualify are no good? It's a buyers market. More people want to work EP than there are clients.

No, but that degree doesn't make them better than the other 90%, the client is severly limiting his options with a pointless requirement.

My bad! Didn't realize telling the client they are wrong was a successful marketing strategy. EP is a buyers market! I may be wrong, but I am working.

EP may be a buyers market... as are most markets in anything. However; as with most markets; sometimes someone really has to explain to a customer what options are out there and who can do what.

It's a lot more like buying a car than a gallon of milk. You want to know options, if you get this, you wont need that, etc... If you require a degree, you're going to get people with some college, but you are going to miss out on a lot of exceptional EPOs. Im not speaking against people with college, but I think a lot more people can get a degree than can be an outstanding exceptional EPO.

In general...Bachelor's degrees are becoming a thing of the past. Now graduate level degrees are the common thing.

Used to be a high school diploma was a real achievement. Then having a bachelor's degree really set you apart from other job seekers. Now it's starting to take a graduate degree to get ahead.

All things being equal, my degree makes me worse?

Not in my book Mike. :)

In most cases, a post-secondary degree scores you some extra points.
