..mid 40"s in San Jose area is near poverty level.
I was just there with NASA AMES RC, 1 & 2 bedroom apts in the dumpy side of town go for $1500-$2000. a month, a house to "rent" are $3k a month & up, forget buying unless you have a spare $1.5 mil.
Its higher rent then almost anywhere else in the country. Plus its Cali..nuff said.
Its in the heart of Silicone valley, dot com world, cost of living is literally unbelivable..mid $40's is good if you dont mind sharing your house with another family to afford the place..dont laught, thats what they do!
