My salute to police dispatchers. Cool, calm, and very professional
Around my area in Southeast Massachusetts most police dispathchers are women. It does not matter whether it is a barking dog, or a dead body on
someone's front lawn, they always seem to have steady tone to them.
And not only are these police dispatchers dealing with sometimes life
and death phone calls, they also sometimes deal with a not so bright
Barney Fife police officer. Thanks to unsung heroes.

I agree whole-heartily.
Dispatchers are as important as the responders.
They have to get the info from often panicky (sp) people and get it out to the ones that will handle the situation whether they are Police, Fire, or EMS.
I have seen what happens when they do their jobs well and when they don't.

As a former police/911 dispatcher, I agree. IMO, women multi-task better than most men, especially in communications. Thus the greater number of women in that field.

God bless them.
And yes, women are better at multi-tasking then men. At least that has been my observation.
(My step-mother was a dispatcher for the Granger WA and later Toppenish WA police departments for many years in the 70's & 80's)
