REPORTING TO: Director of Security Operations

SUMMARY

This position will be responsible for delivering security support to all Company businesses in North, Central and South America. The post is key to Corporate Security delivering a consistent and systematic approach to security management throughout the Group and essential in the delivery of appropriate ‘duty of care’ support.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Tasks:
• Monitor and report the security threats and advise on appropriate mitigation to reduce exposure to ‘as low as reasonably practicable’
• Be a key business partner for senior leaders and maintain currency of both existing and aspirational business footprints.
• Implement and then manage the Security Management System
• Conduct formal risk assessments of all parts of the business including sales projects.
• Conduct security awareness and training sessions for all staff
• Monitor all business travel within the region
• Maintain an active security network with other multi-national companies, Private Security Companies and relevant Government authorities
• Oversee the provision of security governance and assurance for all parts of business
• Support crisis response management as appropriate.

Managerial Scope:
• Recruit and manage (where applicable) Cluster, Country or Project Security Managers in the region
Provide quality assurance and quality control support for all contracts that BUs may have
• Monitor all security spending in the region ensuring that value for money is always achieved.
• Deputise for the Director of Security Operations when required.


Key Challenges:
• Understanding and documenting the full current and aspirational business footprint within the region
• Designing and implementing an accountable and documented method of raising the security awareness across the region
• Obtaining and maintaining relations with the business such that the Regional Security Manager is considered a useful and integral part of the business planning mechanism

COMPETENCIES/ABILITIES

• Minimum of 10 years experience operating in a Commercial security entity
• Minimum of 2 years experience working in a multi-national company’s corporate security organisation
• Significant international exposure, particularly in high threat complex security environments
• Significant and current network of international security contacts within the region
• Colloquial Spanish is desirable

• Appropriately confident and able to win the trust and respect of senior management
• A skilled and experienced Team member, capable of working in a rapidly developing and changing Corporate Security Group
• An experienced and skilled communicator, capable of communicating concisely and logically on issues, both in writing and verbally
