We all know what the standard “kit” is for security officers: Belt, Baton, Handcuffs, Pepper Spray, etc. Does anyone use or is issued any non-standard items? For example: PepperBall, chemical monitors, fire protection gear? I am just curious.
I’ll start off: When allowed by my company I have a Taser X26 and I have an older PepperBall launcher with some aging rounds. I also like to have a handheld search light when I am assigned vehicle patrols.
Thanks in advance for your comments.
The most non standard out here is ability to speak/write/understand English and a good management team. I now have those at my new job which I haven't in awhile. As for tools of the trade, you're lucky if you can legally carry anything out here.

Key chain mouth to mouth barrier device. (But I carry it off duty too).

Probably pretty standard but you didn't mention them:
Notepad/pen
Lockback knife
Gloves (searching/clearing buildings or in anticipation of hands-on encounters)

We're issued turnout gear since we're part of the fire brigade. A full BLS medical kit and SCBA ride with us in the patrol vehicles, but aren't issued out to individual officers.

Not anymore, but the last account that I was on for any real length of time, issued us pull over gear. We also had a chemical monitor, emergency hoods, a rescue wench with harness and tripod in our patrol vehicles. But, all of the really cool toys were in the Haz-mat trailer.

I know a searchlight was mentioned, but what about a good flashlight on the belt?

I work unarmed, but if my company suddenly starts issuing Cold War era dosimeters, I'm guessing the zombies aren't too far away so I'm screwed anyway...

I keep an Avon FM12 respirator with filters and a BLS kit in my squad.

I'm going to get a Stinger DS before next summer, I like the size compared to the big ol' Maglites. The strobe function is a nice touch too ;)
